What journal should look like and how important it is?

A journal is a narrative study of the research conducted on a particular issue. It is the representation of facts and figures pertaining to issues that support a broad picture.

More often than not, journals are published to support a PhD thesis. On an average, a student publishes 2 journals during the course of his thesis. A journal need not be on the same topic as the thesis. However, it should be remotely/ closely related to the thesis.

There is a specific format for journal-writing:

  • Title
  • Abstract
  • Introduction
  • Literature review
  • Methodology
  • Data analysis and results
  • Conclusion
  • References

Writing a journal is like writing the thesis itself, but it is done on a much narrower scale. There are no more than 2 variables involved, and is uncomplicated. It is best to follow the above specified format for more productive results.
